We are Oak class!
The adults in Oak class are Miss Ahmed and Mrs Brown (and Mrs Ali on Friday morning).
What will be learning about in Spring 2?
This half term, our school value is Forgiveness. We will be thinking about how we can show this value in class and whole school collective worship and our daily interactions.
In English, we are studying The Whitby Witches by Robin Jarvis. We will be learning about the features of horror and mystery stories to help us compose our own narratives.
In Maths, we are going to be learning about Fractions, Decimals and Percentages. We will also be revising our knowledge of the four operations and applying this to Algebra and Statistics.
We are starting the half term with our Art days in which we will be painting portraits in the style of different artists, including Frida Kahlo.
In History, we will be learning about the Early Islamic Civilisation and the legacy it left behind. We will be visiting Cartwright Hall to support our learning.
In PSHE, we will be thinking about choices we can make to stay safe online and the impact social media can have on our wellbeing.
In RE, we will be thinking about the Easter story to understand the difference that the Resurrection makes for Christians.
In Science, we will be learning about Living Things and their Habitats; we will learn how animals and plants are classified and Carl Linnaeus.
Take a look at our Curriculum Year Group Plan to find out what else we will be learning about in Year 6 this year. Remember you can find the knowledge organisers for each unit on class dojo ā please share these with your children and discuss the key vocabulary!
